Chloe Jones Missing: Explore Details Of Her Kidnapped And Abused Case

In Akron, Ohio, the mother of a 23-year-old woman who had endured a horrible journey of imprisonment and physical assault revealed the terrifying specifics of her daughter’s story.

The mother, Jessi Barham, described how horrified she was to find her daughter in such a bruised, excessively bloated, and nearly unrecognizably damaged state.

What happened to Chloe Jones

The victim, Chloe Jones, had been held violently and against her will for four agonizing days by William Mozingo, a convicted kidnapper.

Police body cameras filmed the moment of Mozingo’s capture and Chloe’s rescue. In an unexpected turn of events, Mozingo said, “I love you, Chloe,” as he was being led away in handcuffs. Compared to the horrible crimes he had perpetrated, this was a striking contrast.

Jessi Barham went on to describe the horrible cruelty her daughter had to put up with while being held captive. Mozingo had regularly threatened to slit Chloe’s throat in addition to physically assaulting her with a baseball bat and his fists.

This horrific story serves as a chilling reminder of the dreadful trials some people go through and the bravery required to escape such hopeless circumstances.

He soaked her in petrol and threateningly threatened to light her on fire, Barham recalled. Jones was hesitant to speak about the terrible occurrence on camera at the time.

Her mother, however, chose to show News 5 pictures of Chloe with badly swollen, bruised, and blackened eyes that were taken before the incident.

Police Investigation

After going missing for four agonizing days, Barham revealed that her daughter had returned after receiving a disturbing call from the hospital.

Chloe described the gruesome particulars of her experience during that call, noting that she had been kidnapped against her will, received a broken arm, and experienced face fractures.

The garage behind a home on 11th Street SW in Akron was seen in the police body camera film as the scene of the tragic occurrences.

In the footage, police can be heard yelling at the suspected offender, William Mozingo, “William, this is the Akron Police Department.

This is your final opportunity. Come out and raise your hands. A further layer of urgency and tension was added to this upsetting scenario when the resident of the home called 911 and said that her husband had found Mozingo with the victim five hours earlier.

The criminal past of William Mozingo is especially troubling. In the past, he had been imprisoned three times for kidnapping, with two of those incidents taking place in Stark County.

Due to a narcotics possession charge, he also served time at Lorain Correctional. He was placed on two years of probation in April for the drug-related crimes.

Given the allegations against Mozingo, which include kidnapping, wrongful restraint, and felonious assault, the situation seems more critical than ever before, and justice is urgently needed.

The victim’s mother, Jessi Barham, has started a GoFundMe account for Chloe Jones in an act of kindness in response to her daughter’s trauma.

The goal of this fundraising campaign is to give her the aid she needs to recuperate from the horrible ordeal she has gone through both physically and mentally.
